cozybit developed a fully working royalty-free Mobile IPv6 system for a European electronics OEM. Although our customer was bound to a particular operating system (Windows CE), our embedded-Linux prototype allowed them to resolve technical and proprietary issues quickly, and ultimately negotiate lower royalties. Being open source, the project also benefited from the reviews of other developers, and as a result took only three engineer-months to complete.
